研究室紹介

　私の専門はアメリカ文学、特にエミリ・ディキンスン、エズラ・パウンドの詩など、アメリカの詩です。これまで19世紀から20世紀にかけての英米の詩人における宗教と科学の葛藤を研究してきました。また、昨年の夏、京都でエミリ・ディキンスン国際学会の国際会議を開催させていただいたのがきっかけで、19世紀アメリカの詩人ディキンスンが日本や中国などについてどの程度知識を持っていたか、またその知識が彼女の詩にどのように反映しているかについての研究を始めました。
　ジュニア・セミナーではエミリ・ディキンスンの詩に対しての様々なアプローチの仕方を学んでほしいと思っています。そして、シニア・セミナーでは、そのアプローチの仕方を応用して、自分が好きだと思う詩人の作品を研究して卒論を書いてほしいと思います。ですから、4年生になるまでに様々な詩人・作家の詩や小説をできるだけ沢山読んで、自分が好きで1年間卒論のため格闘できる作品に出合ってほしいと願っています。
